I enter the A Story for Daniel writing competition every year, partly to support my friend Gaynor Jones (an amazing writer) who runs the competition and partly because the story of Daniel’s all too brief life is so touching. The competition is designed to remember Daniel and to raise awareness of blood stem cell donation and childhood cancer support.
I’m delighted that my story ‘A Recipe to Remember’ was selected by Daniel’s parents as runner up in the competition this year. The winning story, ‘Baby Pool’ by fellow writer Donna Louise Greenwood moved me to tears. You can read both stories here. (North American friends, please note that homely has a different meaning in the UK!)
